A relief initiative providing winter clothing and baby milk to support displaced families during the war in Lebanon.
What we did
During the escalation of the war in Lebanon, many families were displaced and temporarily sheltered in schools across the region. In response to urgent needs expressed by local schools, the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie, in collaboration with Interact, launched a relief initiative to support affected families. Zgharta Public High School requested winter clothing for displaced families, while a public school in Bcharre expressed an urgent need for baby milk. Through coordination with the National Disaster Relief Fund, the club facilitated the donation of winter clothing from Fabric Aid along with packs of baby milk. Club members and volunteers helped transport the donations from Beirut to Zgharta, sort the clothing by size, and prepare them for distribution. To promote sustainability, the team reused cardboard boxes from local mini-markets instead of purchasing new packaging. The donations were then delivered to the schools, providing essential winter clothing and baby milk for families in need. The project directly supported around 200 individuals, helping ensure that mothers and children had access to basic necessities during a difficult time.
