A collaborative candle fundraiser organized with the Rotaract Club of Tyre to support the restoration of Tyre Public Hospital.
What we did
The “Let Peace Be Your Light” initiative was a collaborative fundraising project organized by the Rotaract Club of Zgharta Zawie in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Tyre. The project focused on selling custom-designed scented candles engraved with a message of peace, symbolizing hope, unity, and healing. The candles were produced in collaboration with a local small business that had previously participated in our Christmas Market, supporting local entrepreneurship. They were available in four scents: Vanilla, Coconut, Oud, and Jasmine, and were packaged with a design created by club members. Each candle was sold for $12, with a production cost of $6, generating $6 in profit per candle. In total, 32 candles were sold, raising $192 in support of the restoration of Tyre Public Hospital, helping improve access to healthcare for the community. Beyond fundraising, the project strengthened collaboration between the two clubs and demonstrated how small initiatives can contribute to meaningful community impact.
